2019-20 Academic Scholarship
Knights of Columbus Chinese Martyrs Council 15463 [Council 15463] was formed in February 2012, under the charter of Knights of Columbus [KofC], New Haven, CT, U.S.A., as one of the ministries of Chinese Martyrs Catholic Church [CMCC] in Markham, Ontario.
As a Catholic, family, fraternal benefit society, Council 15463 adhered to the principles – Charity, Unity, and Fraternity – as laid down by our founder, Venerable Michael McGivney, in a variety of charity work in the Parish and the community at large.
The Council stage a “Knights’ Night” Fund Raising Event every year, and the proceeds are accumulated into a “Knights of Columbus Chinese Martyrs Council Scholarship Fund” [Scholarship Fund]. The fund is awarded each year to Catholic students in theology, philosophy, or religious science pursuing a vocation to the priesthood, and to Chinese ethnic Catholic students studying in university, college and high school in Ontario.
There will be a maximum of ten (10) “Academic Scholarship” open to Chinese ethnic Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant Catholic students.
The “Academic Scholarship” will be awarded to Catholic students currently attending full-time study at an accredited university, college or community college in Ontario, or Catholic students currently attending Grade 12 at an accredited public or private high school in Ontario.
Each successful candidate will be awarded a Certificate of Merit and Prize Money of $500 (Five hundred Dollars).
